The Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association (BCNA) is excited to announce an evening meeting titled “Highlights & Happy Hour.” The meeting will provide residents, business owners, and non-profits an opportunity to hear the latest developments in Bishops Corner followed by a networking social hour. Additionally, the meeting will serve as a way for residents, businesses and nonprofits to learn how to become involved with the BCNA and its committees.

Light fare will be provided by local grocery stores and Maximum Beverage will sponsor a wine tasting.

“We’ve heard from many individuals who want to participate in the BCNA but can’t make our morning meetings. Highlights and Happy Hour is a way for individuals, especially residents, to become more familiar with the BCNA and how it benefits us all,” said resident and BCNA President Bob Fressola.

West Hartford Deputy Mayor Shari Cantor and West Hartford Director of Community Services Mark McGovern will give opening remarks and provide a history of development in Bishops Corner and their perspective on what the future brings to this part of town.  Following opening remarks, BCNA Committee Chairs will briefly present the goals of their committees, recent accomplishments and ways for individuals to become involved. Current BCNA committees include Arts @ Bishops Corner, Farmers’ Market @ Bishops Corner, Pedestrian/Bicycle Safety and Marketing Committees.

“Bishops Corner has seen a remarkable reinvestment in commercial and residential projects in recent months. The BCNA sets goals that are mutually beneficial to both residents and businesses,” said BCNA Vice President and EDENS Property Manager Bert Kaplowitz.

“Highlights & Happy Hour” will be held on March 3rd from 6-8 p.m. at the Bishops Corner Senior Center. For more information please visit Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association on Facebook or contact Bob Fressola at 860-206-6975 or [email protected].

The BCNA is comprised of residents, businesses and nonprofits who advocate for the Bishops Corner Neighborhood of West Hartford. The BCNA has sponsored the Farmers’ Market @ Bishops Corner, Poetry on the Patio, Met with State and Town officials to improve walkability and established a location for nonprofits to hang a banner to promote events.
