The Bridge Family Center is pleased to announce that it has received a $10,000 donation from The Allstate Foundation to support positive youth development in the Greater Hartford area. To celebrate this new partnership, nearly 25 Connecticut Allstate agents are collecting donations during the holiday season to support children and teens the Bridge serves, further deepening the impact The Allstate Foundation is making in the region.
“We are incredibly appreciative of the relationship we have with The Allstate Foundation,” said Margaret Hann, Executive Director for the Bridge. “Not only will their gift strengthen the efforts we have in place to mentor, counsel, and support at-risk youth, the donations from the agents will assist the teens and young adults in our residential programs as they gain the security and skills needed for their next steps in life.”
In addition to three counseling centers and a Family Resource Center, the Bridge runs four short-term assessment and respite shelters for youth/teens/young adults ages 11-20 who are either referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) or in need of emergency shelter. It also manages a therapeutic group home and a number of transitional and independent living sites for teens outside the DCF system.
“The Allstate Foundation has been committed to supporting nonprofit organizations that bring out the good in our communities for more than 60 years,” said Alyssa Ryan, Allstate spokesperson. “We believe that good starts young and we’re proud to support organizations like the Bridge Family Center that help youth reach their full potential.”
From Thursday, Dec. 1 through Friday, Dec. 16, the following Allstate agencies will be collecting donations on behalf of the Bridge. Members of the Greater Hartford community are encouraged to drop off donations during normal business hours. Please see the flyer attached for details.
