When most college students think of summer break, they envision sunny days by the pool, time spent reconnecting with family and friends, and a respite from the stress and anxiety of classes and life on campus. Thoughts of summer break should also include ensuring their mental health and well-being is not compromised by lack of therapy services they may have received while at college.
Unaddressed mental health challenges can lead to a regression in therapy progress made during the school year. When students get the support they need, when they need it, they can return to classes in the fall mentally prepared for a successful experience. Most students who use mental health services while at school do not have access to these same services during breaks.
The Bridge has summer counseling sessions available for those students who would like to continue their therapy while away from campus. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment now to avoid wait times and retain therapy continuity.
