Challenging circumstances call for creativity, and that’s just what Camp KO: The Remix offers to campers in the summer months.

Stimulating and live learning opportunities will ignite children’s passions in activities they love or allow them to explore interests they are curious about. All the programs offered from June 15-July 3 will be held on a secure platform where students engage socially with their peers and expert instructor.

Learning a new language (Italian, Spanish,French, Latin, Chinese), dipping their paint brushes into new artforms, jamming on electronic music, dancing, baking, coding and more there is something for everyone. Each camper has the option of choosing one or more dynamic classes per week, and the courses will run live each day with a KO instructor for 60 to 75 minutes depending on the course. The specific class will run at the same time each day for five days.

To keep bodies fit and minds alert to improve our newly acquired skills, everyone who signs up for a class can participate in a live fitness class from 9-9:30 a.m. every day. All classes will be run by Camp KO Trainer, Brad Seaman, who is starting his third year with the camp.

The day ends with a calming yoga class from 4:30-5 p.m. so campers can refocus their energy and reflect on their accomplishments of the day.

As with most camps, the shared experiences that bind us together help form a sense of community. Even though we may be a virtual camp this summer we plan to build that closeness with a fun mid-week social event open to all campers on Wednesday evenings.

Camp KO – The Remix sessions run from June 15-19, June 22-26, June 29-July 3.

For those interested in learning more, Camp Director Sheri Shea will host a Camp KO – The Remix Q&A zoom meeting Tuesdays from 7:30-8 p.m. on May 19 and 26, and June 2 and 9.

Camp KO will also run for three more weeks, between July 20 and Aug. 7. A decision about whether or not those sessions will be run in person or virtually will be made by June 1, she said.

  • If KO can run live classes, why can’t our public schools?? The burden being placed on parents to homeschool and the distress it is causing families is unnecessary.
