It was an all-around offensive performance by the Conard boys soccer team on Tuesday evening, as it celebrated its seniors with a dominating 11–0 victory over Bloomfield.

The Red Wolves began shooting from the get-go, and they had seven goals in the opening half with ball possession for nearly the entire match. It was a night to recall, especially for seniors Max Simmons and Michael Guildner, who both recorded hat tricks in front of an energized home crowd that was seething with pride.

The mood was set early, when Simmons got on the board just two and a half minutes into the contest. His initial goal was not assisted, and the early punch gave Conard momentum, which they carried through the first half. Simmons just kept running wild on offense, netting a second goal with 27:19 left before halftime, once again creating his own shot. He capped his hat trick with 4:29 remaining in the game, earning a special individual performance on a night designed to honor his senior class.

“It felt great,” Simmons said afterward. “I’ve been playing with these boys all my life, and to spend senior night getting a hat trick was really great – just great vibes all around.”

Guildner, another veteran leader, was as productive as Simmons, with a hat trick of his own before mellowing out somewhat in the second half. He scored three times in the first half of play alone and tacked on a fourth at the end to cap an unbelievable night. “It’s a great experience– last home game, night game – and it’s good to have a hat trick on that evening,” Guildner said.

Guildner’s first score came around the five-minute mark of the contest, assisted by Frankie Figueroa, who was also instrumental in forging a number of scoring opportunities for the night. Figueroa again assisted on Guildner’s second goal just minutes later. The senior forward completed his hat trick 19 minutes and 22 seconds into the game, then scored his fourth tally with 7:40 left to play in the game, this time assisted by Alex Miller.

But it was no two-man show. Conard’s deep and selfless bench displayed its scoring depth, as contributors came from all corners. Arizine Oteka added two of his own, and Sam Burgio and Alex Miller each added a goal. Miller’s goal was scored during the game’s final 17 seconds, a pleasant period mark to Conard’s runaway scoring display.

Those assists were shared across the field, as well. In addition to Figueroa’s two assists, Simmons, Guildner, Burgio, and Miller each posted one, showing how well the Red Wolves passed and set up their teammates with scoring opportunities.

All game, Conard toyed with precision, confidence, and full of energy – qualities that have been the hallmark of this senior class throughout their playing careers. The 11-0 win wasn’t just a win on the scoreboard; it was a display of teamwork, team spirit, and the lasting legacy of the seniors who have defined the program’s character.

Conard, now 4-9-1, has two games left in the season. They will travel to Bristol Central (5-9) for a Friday afternoon game, and travel across West Hartford on Tuesday, Oct. 21, to face crosstown rival Hall (9-1-3) at 6 p.m.
