After Conard defeated crosstown West Hartford rival Hall on Tuesday night, head coach Jared Leghorn said his team finally seemed to have its game back.
It certainly seemed that way just two nights later, with junior Riley Fox securing the upset win for the No. 15 seeded Conard over No. 2 seed Northwest Catholic with a buzzer-beater put-back of a missed 3-pointer.
The Conard boys basketball team had already faced Northwest Catholic twice this season, and lost both games by large margins. On Jan. 3, the Red Wolves fell to the Lions 74-53, and on Jan. 31, Northwest Catholic again was the big winner with a nearly identical 74-54 result.
The Red Wolves were down nearly 20 points in the third quarter, but were able to battle back for the win.
