West Hartford’s Conard High School held its senior prom on Saturday night, May 29, 2021, under a tent at the Polo Grounds in Farmington.
This was the first prom for the Class of 2021, after all proms were canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At Conard, as well as at Hall, only the seniors are having a prom this year.
Despite unseasonably cold and damp weather, prom-goers posed for photos with dates, friends, and family at homes and parks throughout West Hartford prior to heading off to the gala.
The tradition at Conard, as well as at Hall, has been to dress more casually for senior prom than for junior prom, but this year’s event was a mix since many wanted a chance to have the formal experience they missed last year. To keep warm, some added sweatshirts to their attire.
