The Mayor’s Cup game between Conard and Hall softball teams was supposed to be played last week, but the weather did not cooperate and the game was moved to 5 p.m. on Memorial Day.

Monday’s game was a “Strike Out Cancer” game played in honor of former Hall softball player Jackie Hamad – and the teams also played for bragging rights and the Mayor’s Cup trophy. Conard, which won the trophy last year, retained possession of the trophy after the decisive 15-0 win over Hall.

With the loss, Hall ends the season with a record of 6-11.

Conard, now 15-5, ends the season ranked No. 11 in Class LL. Tournament brackets will be announced this week, and first round action begins on June 2.
