FLOW, the Future Leaders of West Hartford, is holding a cornhole tournament to benefit The Town That Cares Fund and West Hartford Food Pantry.

Future Leaders of West Hartford (FLOW), the young professional’s division of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting an event in late August designed to be fun as well as philanthropic.

FLOW’s “Cornhole for a Cause” will be held on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 12:30-4 p.m. at Revolutions/Patio 60 in South Windsor. The event is a benefit for The Town That Cares Fund the umbrella organization that includes the West Hartford Food Pantry.

FLOW is focused on the “development and engagement of local young professionals in the business community,” and hosts events that are educational as well as social. Cornhole for a Cause is designed to be a fun social event – perhaps a bit competitive as well – and will support FLOW’s philanthropic mission at the same time.

A $15 minimum donation is required to attend, 100 percent of which will be donated to the charity. There is also a fee of $5 to participate in the cornhole tournament, 50 percent of which will be donated to The Town That Cares/Food Pantry, and the remaining 50 percent of which will be given as a prize to the winning team.

Not a cornhole player? The event is open to non players as well, and there will be beverages, $5 appetizers, as well volleyball, other lawn games, and networking opportunities to enjoy.

Registration information is available online at www.WHChamber.com.

I fully support FLOW using the name that my book club has been using for more than 10 years….Fine Ladies of West Hartford. Thinking the two groups should get together, to demonstrate intergenerational synergies!!
