The Family Resource Center (FRC), operated by the Bridge Family Center, is now accepting registrations for the 2018 Circle of Security Parenting Program.
“Circle of Security was introduced in 2017 and was very well received by parents, grandparents, and caregivers in the community,” says Deborah Zipkin, director of the FRC. It will run for eight Mondays from 7-8:30 p.m., beginning March 5, and will be held at the Family Resource Center. Free childcare is provided for children ages 4-10. The program is limited to eight participants.
Circle of Security is a research-based program that supports and strengthens a parent or caregiver’s ability to understand a child’s emotional needs and how best to respond and support those needs. It is facilitated by Kim Townsend, FRC Parent Educator; Amy Yarbrough, FRC Family Liason; and trained Circle of Security Program Facilitators.
Contact the FRC at 860-929-5575 to register or for more information. Classes will be held at the FRC, which is located within the Charter Oak International Academy at 425 Oakwood Ave. in West Hartford. The class fee is $36.00.
