Flu Immunization Clinics Scheduled

The West Hartford Bloomfield Health District has announced a schedule of flu immunization clincs for 2015.

The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District will hold three public flu immunization clinics so that residents can be prepared prior to the onset of flu season.

According to the Center for Disease Control, it is especially important hose who are in high-risk groups – including those with chronic disease of the heart, lung, kidneys, diabetes, and those with immuno-suppression conditions – to obtain a flu shot.

Upcoming clinics are scheduled for:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m. – noon, Elmwood Community Center, 1106 New Britain Ave., West Hartford
  • Tuesday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m. – noon, Bloomfield Senior Center, 330 Park Ave., Bloomfield
  • Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1 – 3 p.m., West Hartford Town Hall Auditorium, 50 South Main St., West Hartford

Accepted insurances are: Medicare Part B, all Anthem clients aged 18 and older, ConnectiCare/Medicare Product, Cigna, Aetna.

For those without the above accepted insurance coverage, the flu vaccine will cost $30. Vaccines are available for those ages 18 and up.

To obtaine a flu vaccine for children or if you have additional questions, call the Health District office for an appointment at 860-561-7900, ext. 0.
