Infoshred, LLC will safely shred your confidential papers for free on Saturday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m.-noon, or until the truck is full. This service is available to West Hartford residents only. Please bring ID. No commercial businesses, please.
We will be collecting non-perishable food items at this event to stock the shelves of our local Food Pantry. Thank you in advance for helping a neighbor in need.
Paper collected by Infoshred is safely shredded on site, then shredded again before being baled at Infoshred’s secure facility. All paper shredded and processed by Infoshred is recycled and turned into new material like tissue paper, paper towels and dental bibs, saving trees, protecting the environment and keeping paper out of the landfill.

Take-Back Day
Also, on Saturday, Oct. 25, the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District, in conjunction with the West Hartford Police Department, will hold its bi-annual National Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Charter Oak International Academy, 425 Oakwood Ave. The program is anonymous and free of charge. Volunteers will be on hand to take items from your vehicle.
National Take Back Day allows the public to dispose of expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medication in an environmentally safe manner. When flushed, these drugs can contaminate our waterways and, when used illegally, pose a potential risk to public health and safety.
ACCEPTED: Prescription and over-the-counter dosage medications, i.e., tablets, capsules, vaping products, and liquids.
NOT ACCEPTED: Intravenous solutions, injectable medicines, Epi-pens, and needles are not accepted.
Please take pills out of prescription bottles for disposal. Sealed plastic bags are recommended.
For more information, contact the Health District at 860-561-7900 or the West Hartford Police Department at 860-523-5203.
