Hall High School Announces AP Scholar Awards

A total of 138 current Hall students and 2014 graduates earn the distinction this year.

A total of 138 current students and 2014 graduates of Hall High School have earned the designation of AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams.  About 22 percent of the nearly 2.2 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar.

Students took AP Exams in May 2014 after completing challenging college-level courses at their high schools.  The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on a student’s performance on AP exams. Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest possible score.

At Hall High School, eight (8) students qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. They are 2014 graduates Aiden Busby-Mott, Eliane Helitzer, Edward Huang, Emily Isko, Sydney Lerner, Mohammed Malik, Marisa Mitrano and Chengchen Zhang.

Fifty-four (54) Hall students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. They are 2014 graduates Benjamin Alpert, Andrej Antic, Jared Berson, Isaiah Boden, Aiden Busby-Mott, Connor Dalton, Jillian Davey, Christopher Dickson, Michael Feldman, Jessica Fernandes, Maria Flanders, Solatiya Galvan, Meyer Gilden, Eliane Helitzer, Timothy Henning, Matthew Houpert, Qiansheng Hu, Edward Huang, Emily Isko, Randall Kayser, William Kerin, Jacob Kerzner, Sara Lebow, Sydney Lerner, Beatrice Lynch, Daniel Magin, Mohammed Malik, Maeve Manley, Griffin Marie, Marisa Mitrano, Mark Molinaro, Robert Petry, Renee Powell, Susan Rattigan, Benjamin Rosenfeld, Rebecca Schwartz, Reid Silverhart, Ann-Margaret Sullivan, Anvin Thomas, Annabel Utz, Matthew Wilson, Michelle Wilson and Chengchen Zhang. Additionally the following current Hall seniors: Diane Berlinsky, Helen Chavey, Ryan Cudemus-Brunoli, Thomas Davis, Liam Evans, Alyssa Freiman, Mikayla Gordon-Wexler, Jacob Graber-Lipperman, Tanner Hoelzel, Miriam Katz and Caroline Monnes.

Twenty-four (24) students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. They are 2014 graduates Brian Abedon, Caitlin Becker, Hannah Cho, Deena Cohen, Alice Fraioli, Joy Hariprasad, Keith Kindall, Caroline Reger, Benjamin Schneider, Danielle Silver, Christin Spring, Jonathan Sussler, Abigail Tulchinsky and Jason Zhang. Additionally, the following current Hall students: Samantha Cohen, Taylor Coursey, Olivia Di Poi, Jasmine Kunnummel, Andrei Lioutikov, Serena Phu, Elizabeth Salzman-Fiske, Yelena Samofalova, Jody Therieault and Jackson Zinn-Rowthorn.

Sixty (60) students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by earning a score of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. They are 2014 graduates Annemarie Baldassarre, Zev Beigel, Sydney Chozick, Alex Fishman, Haley Gershman, Jonathan Greenfield, Esther Hoff, Yuansun Jiang, Liah Kaminer, Genevieve Karanian, Morgan Kennedy, Emily Kenny, Justin Killian, Daniel Kovner, Hyesung Lee, Mackenzie Lim, Katherine Litis, Elizabeth Maysonet, Sarah McHale, James Mullin, Natalie Padberg-Bartoo, Caroline Reynolds, Danielle Schuman, Allyson Swaby, Ethan Swain, Ashley Tremaine, Chinedum Uche, Julian Waddell, Max Weinstein and Emily Weiser. Additionally, the following current Hall students:  Antonia Alquist, Jacob Cantor, Jacob Fischman, George Fiske, Julia Fuller, Sydney Gellerman, Emma Gibson, Sophia Glagovich, Leah Goldman, Stephanie Gomez, Gillian Hixson, Kyle Jeter, Martin Kaehrle, Hannah Leyland, Sonia Livingston, Mary Majerus-Collins, Thomas McManus, Akriti Mishra, Jeffny Pally, Remony Perlman, Anthony Poon, Kaitlin Rogers, Apoorva Sajan, Kyle Schaff, Viktor Shcheglov, Marina Tinone, David Van Doren, Sophie Wheeler, William Wright and Maria Zugravu.

Through 34 different college-level courses and exams, AP provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to earn college credit or advanced placement and stand out in the college admission process.
