Insomnia Cookies has confirmed plans to open their fourth Connecticut store at 70 LaSalle Road, the former location of Exclusive Furs that since last fall has been a temporary pop-up for the Tags thrift store.

Plans have been submitted to the town, and Martin Parker, project manager for Insomnia Cookies, said the “goal will be to start construction in August at the latest.” He said while it’s subject to change, the goal will be to open by the beginning of October if possible.
“I think it will be a great addition to that strip,” said Shane Mulready, CEO of RM Bradley Management Corp., property manager for the West Hartford building where Insomnia Cookies plans to open.
Insomnia Cookies opened their first Connecticut store in Storrs Center, adjacent to the University of Connecticut’s main campus. A store in New Haven followed, and in March they opened the state’s third location 247 Asylum Street. With the opening of the West Hartford location and another planned for Stamford, Parker said the company will have five stores in the state by the end of 2025.

The company was founded in 2003 in a dorm room by Seth Berkowitz, who at the time was a student in at the University of Pennsylvania craving something “sweet, warm, and he wanted it brought to his door,” but at the time late-night delivery options were limited, the website states. He followed his craving, and launched the Philadelphia-based company that has now expanded not more than 300 stores nationwide.
So what’s unique about Insomnia Cookies?
