“We welcome Kimberly Margolis who is joining the staff at Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford in the role of Director of Development,” announced Anne Danaher, Executive Director. With an MBA in Nonprofit Management, Kim has over fifteen years development experience working with organizations including Jewish Big Brothers, Jewish Federation of Los Angeles and Greater Hartford, and most recently the Mandell Jewish Community Center.

Margolis was awarded the Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty last year. “I love the partnerships I’ve formed within these organizations,” explained Kim, “and I’m thrilled to continue my work in building a strong Jewish community.”

Margolis will develop, execute, and manage the development efforts for Jewish Family Services, including the Annual Friends Campaign and Endowment fund. “With outside funding sources decreasing and the needs of our community increasing, it became an agency priority to focus on our development strategies,” states Danaher.

Margolis will grow the donor base and create new giving opportunities that support the mission of JFS. “Kim is the perfect addition to the JFS team. Her experience, creativity and passion for her work reflect the values of the organization as a whole,” offered Merrill Mandell, JFS Board President. “In the short time that we have been working together, she has shown herself to be a team player with energy and fresh ideas.”

Just as JFS and these other organizations base their missions on the Jewish tradition of “repairing the world,” Kim tries to pass that value on to her two children. For their birthdays, guests are asked to bring books or cleaning supplies in lieu of gifts. The items are donated to the needy in the community, and her children do the delivering. Whether professionally or personally, Kim strives to exemplify the value of Tikkun Olam—healing the world. Kim added, “Together we make a difference.”

JFS focuses on three core areas: Counseling, Education, and Community Support, and utilizes a variety of counseling treatment approaches and can help clients address a wide range of issues.
