Lamont Signs Revised State Housing Bill

The bill includes a requirement for a town to either opt into a regional Council of Governments (COG) plan or develop their own plan to increase affordable housing and submit it to a COG every five years.

Four months after vetoing a controversial housing bill, Gov. Ned Lamont has followed through on his vow to sign its revised version that passed the legislature along mostly party lines in a mid-November special session.
In a brief notification posted to Lamont’s official website, the office announced the signing of House Bill 8002. Lamont has now signed all four bills the legislature passed during the two-day session.
