Dear Editors of We-Ha,

As a longtime member of the West Hartford community, I am proud to support Miriam Bleich in her candidacy for the West Hartford Board of Education. Miriam brings a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach grounded in three core priorities that deeply resonate with families and educators alike: prioritizing special education, ensuring budget accountability, and promoting parent-informed education.

Miriam understands that every child deserves access to the resources and individualized support they need to thrive. Her plan to develop a Special Education Insourcing Roadmap will help West Hartford improve quality of services, strengthen collaboration between parents and educators, and ensure that funding is used effectively to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Equally important is Miriam’s commitment to budget accountability. By forming a Finance Committee dedicated to transparent, data-driven oversight, she aims to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely—supporting the classroom first, while maintaining the fiscal health of our schools.

Finally, Miriam recognizes that strong schools are built on partnership. Her proposal to establish a Curriculum Committee will provide parents, teachers, and administrators a structured forum to collaborate on educational priorities, ensuring that decisions reflect both academic excellence and community values.

Miriam’s experience, compassion, and dedication make her the kind of leader our schools need—one who listens, engages, and acts thoughtfully to strengthen West Hartford’s public education for all students. I urge my fellow residents to join me in supporting Miriam Bleich for the West Hartford Board of Education.

Sincerely,
Masha Stambler
West Hartford
