Dear Editor,
I “echo” the recent letter you got from Sunny Kagan and Congregation Beth Israel.
For some years now I’ve enjoyed attending (and taking my family to) the annual Holiday Stroll in West Hartford Center. By “holiday” I believe the name implies celebrating ALL major holidays at this time of year, namely Christmas, Chanukah, and Kwanza.
This year we cannot attend as the event falls out on a Friday eve., the Jewish Sabbath. I realize that it’s probably too late to change the date for this year. I don’t know who actually plans the event. However I’m really hoping (as are many others) that this rather insensitive gesture is not repeated in future years so that members of ALL faiths in the area can attend.
Thanks for your understanding…
Sincerely,
David Silver
West Hartford
Well stated.
