Dear Editor,

I write in support of my friend and former colleague Leon Davidoff, candidate for the West Hartford Town Council. Leon has the experience, commitment, temperament and judgment to ably guide West Hartford through the rough waters facing all of us for the next few years.

Leon has the experience. Leon has served, on a volunteer, nonpaying basis, in town government for more than twenty years. There is no one in town government with more expertise in zoning matters. Leon has analyzed, debated and worked on two decades of municipal budgets. He knows what to preserve and what to cut.

Leon has the commitment to our schools. As empty nesters with two daughters recently graduated from West Hartford Public Schools, Leon and his wife Lexi know first hand how much of an advantage an excellent West Hartford education provides to its students.

Leon has the temperament. Leon personifies the very best of public service – self-effacing, competent, calm and levelheaded. Leon isn’t doing this for the glory (BTW, there isn’t much glory in this job) – Leon serves because it is the right thing to do.

Leon has the judgment. He spots the issues, researches the facts and then thoughtfully makes a decision. He is wise, open to new ideas and grounded in what will work best for West Hartford.

Leon is exactly what West Hartford needs in these difficult times. Please vote for Leon Davidoff, democrat for Town Council, on Row A on November 7.
