To the Editor:

As a longtime West Hartford resident, I’m proud to support Barry Walters for Town Council. Barry represents what I love most about this town – neighbors who show up, listen, and care deeply about community.

I first got to know Barry through his work with West Hartford Pride, and I’ve seen firsthand how he brings people together with empathy and energy. On the Council, he’s carried that same spirit – focusing on what matters most: keeping our town safe, welcoming, and affordable for all. He understands that safety means safer streets, stronger connections, and thoughtful growth – not just numbers on a spreadsheet.

As costs rise everywhere, Barry has been a steady advocate for keeping West Hartford affordable. He supports smart development that includes diverse housing options, and he works to balance fiscal responsibility with the high-quality services that make this community thrive. He recognizes that affordability isn’t just about property taxes – it’s about ensuring young families can plant roots here, and that long-time residents can stay in the town they love.

Barry is collaborative, kind, and genuinely invested in West Hartford’s future. I hope my neighbors will join me in voting for him for Town Council.

Sincerely,

Alicia Wise
West Hartford
