To the Editor:

Had occasion today, Sunday, to experience U.S. Postal Prevention Service at the Bishop’s Corner office.

Sadly, in response I am sure to earlier thefts, there is but one box for the deposit of outgoing holiday mail. And, there is no pickup scheduled for Sundays! Result? Latecomers must find another box or wait until box is emptied on Monday. It wasn’t too long ago that there were three boxes for deposit there.

The removal of boxes started several years ago under the direction of Louis DeJoy. The expansion of this call seems to have been at least in part responsive to thefts occurring at mailboxes.

I agree this is annoying, especially during holiday times. but it seems to me your complaint should be directed to DeJoy, who has taken many measures to undermine the USPS, including making it less convenient & more expensive. It seems less than accidental that efforts to undermine the postal service may contribute to the private sector profiteers such as DeJoy’s own.
