To the Editor:

On Election Day this year, I urge you to thoughtfully consider the only slate that truly operates as a team and is dedicated to working collaboratively for ALL the residents of West Hartford. The West Hartford Republican team is committed to serving every individual in our community, regardless of gender, party affiliation, religion, or race.

Questions Raised About Democratic Campaign Practices:

Recently, I have found myself questioning the actions of the Democratic candidates. Today, my daughter received a campaign mailer from only four Democratic candidates for Town Council. Notably absent from the mailer were Ben Wenograd and Barry Walters.

This raises several important questions. Why did the West Hartford Democratic candidates choose to distribute a campaign piece that excluded these individuals? Why was Deputy Mayor Ben Wenograd not included?

  • Is it due to his previous attempt this year to introduce more Democratic candidates disguised as third-party contenders, which would have left Republican and centrist residents with no representation and no voice at all?
  • Is his omission related to perceived ties to Big Labor?
  • Could it be because he supports far-left policies that many in West Hartford find out of touch?
  • Or is it because he cannot be trusted because of ALL the above-mentioned decisions he has made?

Why would four Democratic candidates for Town Council decide to exclude Ben Wenograd and Barry Walters from a campaign mailer at such a crucial time, especially without informing him? Judgement matters! [Editor’s note: Photos of the four women were on one side of the postcard, and on the other side it stated that they are “the Democratic women candidates running for Town Council.]

The Republican Slate: Trustworthy and Committed:

Looking ahead to 2025, the Republican candidates for Town Council present a group that is trustworthy, diverse, qualified, and experienced. They have pledged to represent YOU! None of these candidates are lobbyists, none divert your tax dollars for personal projects, and all are genuinely invested in our community. They can be trusted to help lower taxes, enhance public safety, and oversee responsible development.

A Clear Choice This Election:

As you prepare to vote, consider this important question: Will the Row B team that stands united have your interests at heart, or will the Row A team that appears divided, does not seem to trust their own candidates and are unable to support one another best represent you?

Make your voice heard. Vote Row B this Tuesday, November 4th.

Sincerely,

Dennis J. Swanton

West Hartford resident
West Hartford Republican Town Committee Vice-Chair
Republican State Central Committee member
