To the Editor:
As a retired resident who has lived in West Hartford for many years, I’ve seen the town change, some for the better, but too much for the worse. The cost of living has skyrocketed, taxes rise year after year, and there is little regard for how these decisions affect seniors on fixed incomes. Our current leadership has lost touch with the realities facing everyday residents.
That’s why this year I’ll be voting ROW B for the Republican candidates for Town Council: Al Cortes, Dr.Gayle Harris, Kyle Zelazny, Ben Lewis, John Lyons, and Dr.Sijie “Jason” Wang. These are accomplished, community-minded individuals with practical experience, and a shared commitment to restoring fiscal discipline, transparency, and accountability at Town Hall.
Their plan makes sense – Zero-Based Budgeting, to control costs, Quarterly Budget Transparency Workshops so residents know where their money goes, and a renewed focus on road repairs, safety, and responsible development. They also stand for protecting TITLE IX to ensure fairness in girls’ and women’s sports, and for merit-based hiring that rewards qualifications, not political checkboxes.
West Hartford deserves leaders who work for the people – not for for special interests or political agendas. This Tuesday, Nov. 4, let’s bring balance, common sense, and financial responsibility back to our town. VOTE ROW B for a better West Hartford!
