When the Delamar West Hartford Hotel opens later this summer it will bring a luxurious new spa and the acclaimed Artisan restaurant to town – and it will also be the new home for two longtime West Hartford businesses.

Lane & Lenge and Connecticut Custom Clothing Company will both move from their existing West Hartford locations to the lobby of the Delamar, where local shoppers as well as hotel guests will be able to access their services.

Lane & Lenge, which is owned by Bob Dinucci, has been a family-owned business since 1912, is currently located at 214 Park Rd. The business was started in Hartford by Dinucci’s maternal grandfather, Frank Lenge, and has moved several times, most recently in 2009 from LaSalle Road in West Hartford Center to its current location.

The Delamar and the newly-reopened Goodwin Hotel in Hartford share a common partner – Greenwich Hospitality CEO Charles Mallory – and will also share Lane & Lenge’s operation.

While the Delamar West Hartford location will be smaller than the space Lane & Lenge currently occupies on Park Road, the 500 square foot shop will only be one of the florist’s locations. “We are putting our design studio in the Goodwin Hotel,” Dinucci said.

“They approached us. It was an opportunity to do the work for the hotel and we thought that was something we couldn’t possibly pass up,” said Dinucci.

The move to the Goodwin will take place very soon, Dinucci said, and he anticipates opening in the Delamar in late July or early August.

The space will be beautiful, filled with antiques, and Dinucci will ensure that the Delamar and Goodwin are filled with spectacular and unique flower arrangements.

While the Lane & Lenge move was just finalized, Bob DeGemmis of what is now known as Connecticut Custom Clothing Company announced last fall that he planned to change the name of his business from “Dressed to the Nines” and and also planned to become one of the first retailers to move to the new Delamar Hotel.

DeGemmis’ business, which was founded by his grandfather Alfredo in 1916, is currently located at 1000 Farmington Ave. in West Hartford, and provides custom shirts, suits, and other wardrobe services.

“Lane & Lenge and Connecticut Custom Clothing Company make excellent additions to Delamar West Hartford,” Greenwich Hospitality Group Regional Director of Operations Daniel Coggins said in a statement. “We are excited to have both these long standing West Hartford retail stores located in our hotel and we believe our guests will enjoy the conveniences.”

Dinucci shared the sentiment.

“We are very excited about it and the people at the Delamar are excited about us opening up, too,” Dinucci said. He is looking forward to the West Hartford opening and said the hotel will be very good for the area.
