There will be a lot of heart behind the spirits served during “Pouring For A Purpose,” set for April 28.

The beer, wine and spirits tasting will be held in celebration of the collaboration between Chapter 126 Sports & Fitness and The Miracle League of Connecticut.

It will also serve as a fundraiser for both organizations.

Chapter 126 Sports and Fitness is an adaptive gym that offers fitness and sports programs for people of all ages and abilities.

The Miracle League of Connecticut, most known for its spring and fall baseball program on the state’s first Miracle Field located in West Hartford, had experienced significant growth and expansion in recent years and was looking for a home base.

Once the facility became the site for the League’s winter programming, an idea was realized that the Miracle League and Chapter 126 have overlapping missions and an inherent ability to work together, explained Mike Michaud, a co-founder of the Miracle League of Connecticut who recently became its full-time executive director.

The Bristol-based facility is now the site of the Miracle League offices and the two separate, nonprofit organizations are collaborating in some instances on programming.

“We’re looking forward to the opportunity to welcome our Miracle League of Connecticut adult family members, as well as Miracle League supporters, to Chapter 126 to see how our new collaboration has allowed us to further grow our offerings for the children we serve,” Michaud said of the upcoming event. “We’re also looking forward to meeting supporters of Chapter 126 and sharing with them details of all the Miracle League of Connecticut has to offer. It will be a wonderful chance to share our mission and our friendship with the Chapter 126 community.”

Pouring for a Purpose, which will feature more than 30 varieties of wine, beer and spirits from around the world, as well as music, raffle prizes, light snacks and adaptive equipment demonstrations, will be held at Chapter 126, 47 Upson St. in Bristol, from 7 to 10 p.m.

The sponsor of the event is Worldwide Wine & Spirits.

Tickets are $40 per person in advance, $50 at the door.
