The Town of West Hartford hosted a blood drive in the Town Hall Auditorium on Feb. 23, to help make up for the shortfall in collected blood that resulted from winter weather-related donation cancellations.
“Our February blood drive was a great success. We are looking forward to our March drive and are hoping to collect even more units of lifesaving blood to help hospital patients in need,” said Stefanie Arcangelo, external communications manager, American Red Cross.
“March is Red Cross Month and the American Red Cross is encouraging people to discover their inner hero by giving blood and helping save lives,” the American Red Cross announced in a news release.
The goal for this month’s blood drive in West Hartford is 50 units, and donors are encouraged to sign up as early as possible.
The drive will be held on March 23, from 1-6:15 p.m., in the Town Hall Auditorium, which is on the third floor of West Hartford Town Hall, 50 South Main St.
Donors of all blood types are needed in order to help maintain a diverse blood supply.
