The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is offering a safe place for students to go during their week of remote learning.
Three mornings a week, a “study hall” with adult supervision will provide a safe environment for students to complete their distance learning. The Museum will provide the space, WiFi, supervision, structure, and break times for some fun!
The Museum has provided quality hands on programming for students for decades, both onsite and in the classroom. Our enthusiastic museum teachers are looking forward to working with your children to assist them through this process of distance learning.
It’s fitting for the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society to be a place for learning. Noah Webster, the American founding father, started his career as a teacher in a one-room school house. In fact, that experience led him to write The Blue-backed Speller, a best-selling school book for children that taught millions how to read and write American English.
Study Hall at Noah’s will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, and will be offered as long as distance learning continues. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon on Monday through Friday. The program is for students in grades 3-5. Students provide their own lap tops or device, headphones, assignments, and snacks. Space is extremely limited due to social distancing.
The cost per day is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.

The Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society is a not-for-profit museum and cultural destination where citizens can learn to understand and appreciate the past. The museum preserves the birthplace of Noah Webster, the founding father, educator, author and lexicographer who taught generations of Americans what it means to be American. This National Historic Landmark is also a repository for the history of West Hartford, the community that molded Webster’s future and is still thriving 250-plus years later.
