Northwest Catholic defeated crosstown West Hartford rival Conard 2-0 in girls soccer on Tuesday.

The Northwest Catholic girls soccer team hosted Conard on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025 in West Hartford.

With a 2-0 shutout of the Red Wolves, the Lions improve to 6-2-1 and qualify for the state tournament.

The Lions took the lead in the first half on a corner kick from Mya Montoney and header by Maeve Staunton to make it 1-0.

The second goal came in the second half with the Lions pressing the Red Wolves defense and a finish by Maddy Rudy, assisted by Maeve Staunton.

Northwest Catholic plays away at Bristol Central on Friday, Oct. 3. Conard, now 2-5-1 travels to Burlington to face Lewis Mills on Friday, Oct. 3.
