Windsor resident Amaia Fernandez-Zelaia ’15, a senior at Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, has been named a Scholar in the National Hispanic Recognition program. The program recognizes about 5,000 of the highest-scoring students from over 250,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who took the PSAT/NMSQT in October 2013.
Fernandez-Zelaia has been involved in the music program at Northwest Catholic for the past four years and is currently a member of the Wind Ensemble. She is also a team captain for the school’s Relay for Life team and a member of the National Honor Society.
Since 1961, Northwest Catholic’s mission has been to educate the whole person: mind, body, spirit, and soul. Enrollment for the Class of ’19 is now under way, and prospective students are invited to the Open House at Northwest Catholic on November 9, 2014.
