A procession of about 25 menorahs passed through West Hartford on Thursday evening – strapped to the top of vehicles as the “Parade of Light” traveled from Bishops Corner in West Hartford to the Chabad Jewish Center in Glastonbury.

The annual event, now in its third year, was organized by Rabbi Yosef Wolvovsky, Executive Director of the Benet Rothstein Chabad Jewish Center in Glastonbury, and serves as a visual reminder that Chanukah is the “Festival of Lights.” This year Chanukah begins the evening of Saturday, Dec. 24.

Parade participants handed out free “Celebrate Chanukah!” kits – household menorahs and candles – to anyone along the way who wanted one.

Please announce “Parade of Light” in advance next year so we can take our children to watch the procession! Thank you!
