Proposals Now Being Accepted for West Hartford’s Second Annual ‘How-To’ Festival

West Hartford’s second annual ‘How-To’ Festival will be held at the Noah Webster Library on March 24, 2018, but organizers are already collecting proposals.

West Hartford’s How-To Festival is still several months away, but those interested in being a presenter are invited to submit their proposals as soon as possible.

“It’s not too early. We want submissions now, so we can start planning and selecting the best,” said Joe Cadieux, head of Programs and Publicity for the West Hartford Library. “We are looking for how-to-do-it stuff that you would not expect to find in a library. We have a belly dancer lined up already, for instance.”

Last year’s inaugural How-To Festival was a resounding success, and Cadieux said that more than 2,000 people are expected to attend this year.

More than 50 local experts, enthusiasts, hobbyists, and professionals are expected to participate as presenters. Participants will be given the opportunity to introduce a topic, provide instruction, or do a complete demonstration of their passion. Presentations will be repeated for a changing audience.

Last year’s festival attracted a wide range of presentations on a diverse group of topics, including salsa dancing, using a digital camera, playing three chords on the guitar, knitting, home buying, doing magic tricks, and packing to hike the Appalachian Trail.

West Hartford’s second annual How-To Festival will be held on Saturday, March, 24, 2018, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Noah Webster Library, 20 South Main St., West Hartford.
