At least 20 protests are being planned in towns across Connecticut on Saturday as part of a nationwide “Hands Off!” movement in opposition to the Trump administration’s federal funding cuts.
“This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies,” organizers wrote online. “Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.”
The events are meant to be a nonviolent way for residents to speak out and take action, organizers said.
