Riverfront Recapture Rowers Have Great Success at Recent Regattas

Riverfront Recapture rowers, many of whom are from West Hartford or attend schools in West Hartford, have had great success in recent races.

The Riverfront Recapture’s Boys’ Varsity 4+ boat raced in the prestigious Head of The Charles Regatta in Boston, MA, on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015.
The Head of the Charles is the world’s largest two day race, with over 32 countries and 11,000 athletes competing. Racing against 85 other teams, Riverfront placed in the top half of their division, earning the team the ability to race again in 2016.
All 5 boys in the boat attend West Hartford/Hartford Schools.

Riverfront Recapture also recently had a successful day of racing at the 6th Annual New England Junior and High School Regional Championships on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, MA, on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015.
Four of Riverfront’s boats earned Bronze medals, competing against 43 teams and 338 entries in various divisions.

Girls’ 1st Varsity 8+: Rowers Megan Buyak (Mercy), Lauren Cohen (Conard), Alanna Uthgenannt (Conard), Sarah Ingram (Science and Engineering), Ellen Fuller (Hall), Jesse Chapman (Loomis), Catherine Lee (Loomis), and Abby Conner (Sport and Medical Sciences) , holding coxswain Olivia Dumeer (Smith).
Girls’ 2nd Varsity 8+: Coxswain Katie Brough (Mercy) and rowers Haley Lemke (Conard), Becca Gold (Hall), Katie Warner (Loomis), Ruby Schillar (Loomis), Noa Falik (Classical), Maddie McKeever (Sports and Medical Science), Jenna Gershman (Trinity College Academy), and Sara Delgado (Capitol Prep).
