The public is invited to “Dialogue,” an exhibition of sculpture and mixed media by Brigid Kennedy and Andres Chaparro, from now through Nov. 10, 2016, in the Wallace Barnes and Barbara Hackman Franklin Art Gallery at Tunxis.

Kennedy’s work is in numerous museums and private collections. She has lived and worked as a professional artist all over the world in South America, Canada and Europe, where she exhibited unique, site-specific sculptures. She has received numerous awards including an Individual Artist Fellowship Grant from the Greater Hartford Arts Council, a Fulbright Scholar Lecture/Research Award to Chile, a Connecticut Commission on the Arts Artists Project Grant, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award, and National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artists Grants. She is also a Visual Arts teacher at West Hartford’s Conard High School.

Chaparro is a mixed media artist whose socially conscious work is inspired by Jazz music. His mixed media paintings incorporate collage, oil sticks, marker, crayon, pencil, acrylic, spray paint and found objects. He has exhibited in galleries throughout the United States and Canada, and his paintings can be found in many permanent public and private art collections.
