Sheehan Hilborn Breen and over 40 other Connecticut funeral homes are collecting  toys and gift cards for both families of those deployed in the Connecticut National Guard as well as children at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center  as part of  Operation E.L.F.

The drive, coordinated again this year by the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association, will continue through Wednesday, Dec. 5.  All gift cards, toys and funds collected will be delivered directly to the Connecticut National Guard and Connecticut Children’s Medical Center before the holidays. Gift cards of any dollar value to grocery, department stores, home supply stores, gas stations, and pharmacies, as well as unwrapped toys for young people of any age are appreciated.

“Last year, neighborhood residents and town officials generously gave over one thousand dollars of gift cards and toys for Operation E.L.F. We are honored once again to be the West Hartford collection site for this drive and are thrilled to participate in this wonderful program,” said David Skinner of Sheehan Hilborn Breen. “We thank you for your continued generosity and are so appreciative of our West Hartford community always stepping up to support others.”

Donations of gift cards and toys may be dropped off at the back door until Dec. 5, 2018, to Sheehan Hilborn Breen at 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, CT, during regular business hours or call 860-561-3800 to arrange a different time to drop off. Sheehan Hilborn Breen is also now a permanent collection site for the West Hartford Food Pantry and food or personal care items are also welcome throughout the year.
