“Chalk Your Walk” and “Hearts for Healthcare Workers” are two of the many initiatives spreading throughout West Hartford as residents find ways to create positivity amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Promoted through the social media hashtag #chalkyourwalk, a request for positive messages to support healthcare workers and cooperation with physical distancing guidelines was one of the first efforts to engage communities. And West Hartford residents jumped onboard quickly, as driveways, sidewalks, and even the area in front of Stop & Shop on Newington Road and the police and fire stations were decorated with inspiring messages.
Thanks to all who submitted their chalk photos. Look for a photo gallery of hearts that are now popping up in windows throughout town coming soon.
