Sound of New England Chorus to Perform Holiday Classics at Blue Back Farmers’ Market in West Hartford

Get ready to hear the sweet sounds and fun-filled harmony of Barbershop a cappella performances from West Hartford’s Sound of New England chorus on Oct. 22, at Blue Back Farmers’ Market. Sound of New England will perform holiday classics and other popular songs at 10:30 a.m. and at noon at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 South Main Street.
“We can’t wait to fill the streets of West Hartford Center with the unique sound of Barbershop, a cappella harmony created from four different voice parts that beautifully blend into one chord,” says Marion Devokaitis, Sound of New England Master Director.
A chapter of Sweet Adelines International, Sound of New England is a nonprofit, award-winning chorus that fosters a cappella barbershop harmony through education, performance and competition. Under the direction of Ms. Devokaitis, Sound of New England performs show tunes, big band hits, jazz, beautiful ballads and patriotic standards.

Sound of New England features singers from West Hartford and surrounding towns, and Western Massachusetts, and rehearses every week at Saint Mary Home in West Hartford. In 2023, the chorus is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
