Speak Up Storytelling Returns to Stage in April

West Hartford Public Schools teacher Elysha Dicks will host a Speak Up Storytelling event on April 22, with a cast of storytellers that includes Matthew Dicks and several others with West Hartford connections.

Speak Up Storytelling returns to the stage for the first time in 2023 on Saturday, April 22 at the Connecticut Historical Society with “Fish Out of Water: Assimilating to New Surroundings,” featuring some of the best storytellers in the Hartford area alongside brand new storytellers who will perform onstage for the very first time.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m.
The casts of storytellers include travel journalist Bekah Wright, human rights activist and doctoral candidate at the University of Connecticut Esam Boraey, philanthropy professional at the Jewish Community Foundation Kathryn Gonnerman, southern transplant and storytelling in the recent Valley Voices Storytelling Championship
The show will be hosted, as always, by West Hartford Public School teacher Elysha Dicks.
Complimentary beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks will be served courtesy of the Connecticut Historical Society.
