PipeScreams, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.

Join us for one of the most popular Halloween music events of the year – PipeScreams! Folks of all ages are invited to attend this zany, theatrical organ concert which is free and fun for the whole family! Held this year at St. James’s Episcopal Church in West Hartford and emceed by Michelle Horsley, the evening begins with ghost stories and seasonal treats around bonfire, hosted by NPR/CT-Public’s Chion Wolf, after which attendees will be invited into a fully decorated sanctuary for an hour-long concert filled with special effects and not-so-spooky musical hauntings, featuring organists 11 organists presenting selections from Bach to Danny Elfman.

Arrive early, as this event usually draws a large crowd. Costumes are strongly encouraged! For questions, please contact Michelle Horsley ([email protected]).

Storytime, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m.

This is first-of-its-kind, intergenerational music event connects the timeless wisdom of beloved children’s books (Frog and Toad, Miss Rumphius, The Rainbow Fish, Where the Wild Things Age, The Bad Seed, Goodnight Moon, etc.) with choral works by Jake Runestad, Jonathan Dove, David Hurd, etc. reflections for children and adults of all ages as we honor the child that lives within us all.

Presented by the choirs of St. James’s Episcopal Church and special guests, all are welcome to attend – and yes, you are encouraged to bring your baby blanket and teddy bear. Freewill donation.
