Storytime at West Hartford Library Will Highlight Challenges of Children with Incarcerated Parents

The family event at the Noah Webster Library in West Hartford will include reading of several stories and creation of a Kindness Card.

Did you know that one in 14 U.S. children have had a parent who lives with them go to jail or prison?

Join us for a storytime that was planned to highlight the strengths and challenges of children whose family members have been incarcerated. The storytime will take place at the West Hartford Public Library, 20 South Main St., in West Hartford, on Tuesday, Dec. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

We will read Kofi’s Mom by Richard Dyches, We’re All Wonders by R.J. Palacio, and Each Kindness by Jaqueline Woodson.

We will also create a Kindness Card. Recommended ages: 5 and older.
