Members of the Monsignor John F. Callahan Council 3600 of the Knights of Columbus and Friends came together at the Church of Saint Thomas the Apostle in West Hartford to make 630 sandwiches for clients of the House of Bread in Hartford. Council 3600 undertakes making sandwiches for the House of Bread on the second Saturday of every other month at the Church of Saint Thomas the Apostle. Individual and family volunteers are welcome to join with other volunteers.

The 630 sandwiches is a new record for them, breaking the previous record of 400.

The House of Bread is located in Hartford, and as their website states: they offer food, shelter, housing and education with compassion, dignity and respect. House of Bread serves nearly 2,000 people per day.

With assistance from West Hartford Big Y Store Manager Jim Martin and Bakery Manager Anthony Aceto, Council 3600 is able to do their part to address hunger and homelessness in our community.
