The Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association is seeking volunteers to help develop a vision for one of West Hartford’s busiest intersections as well as for pedestrian safety in the entire area.

Submitted

The Bishops Corner Neighborhood Association (BCNA) has been working with the Town of West Hartford and the state to advocate for pedestrian safety improvements to the North Main Street/Albany Avenue intersection.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has allocated $850,000 for improvements. The BCNA will be forming a small committee comprised of  residents and business owners who will be tasked with identifying opportunities for improvement and creating a strategic vision for the intersection and Bishops Corner more broadly (related to pedestrian safety).

The committee will provide recommendations to the state and town, and will engage as needed. Any resident is welcome to apply, especially those with a civil/traffic engineering background.

Anyone interested in participating should email [email protected] by Aug. 1o.
