The Webster Hill PTO is once again hosting a Thanksgiving morning ‘Turkey Trot’ in the school’s West Hartford neighborhood.

Webster Hill Elementary School PTO is proud to announce its fourth annual, highly-anticipated Turkey Trot 5K, scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, beginning at 8 a.m. at Webster Hill School. This unique community event aims to combine fitness and community members of all ages for a fun-filled day of running, fundraising, and activities supporting a worthy cause.

The Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk is not just a race, it’s a chance to make a difference. By participating in this exciting event, runners and sponsors will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of the Webster Hill Elementary students in our community. Every step you take and every dollar you contribute will directly benefit our school and our students, making your participation truly meaningful and valuable.

Participants in the Turkey Trot will embark on a scenic route that winds through the picturesque Webster Hill neighborhoods. Runners and walkers of all skill levels and ages are encouraged to participate, from avid athletes seeking a competitive challenge to casual walkers looking to support a great cause. The race will feature a free commemorative winter hat for the first 450 registrants.

In addition to the race, the Turkey Trot 5K will offer a range of activities and attractions for attendees of all ages. Music, a bake sale, face painting, and other family-friendly activities will ensure a day of fun and enjoyment for everyone. Get ready to have a blast and create lasting memories with your family and friends!

“We are thrilled to launch the Webster Hill Turkey Trot 5K,” said Gary Lafferty, Race Coordinator and PTO Co-President. “This event represents our ongoing commitment to support Webster Hill School and create a positive impact in our community. We invite everyone to join us for a day of fitness, fun family activities, camaraderie, and giving back.”

By sponsoring the Turkey Trot, local businesses and organizations can demonstrate their commitment to philanthropy and community engagement. Sponsorship opportunities are available at various levels, offering partners prominent recognition and visibility before, during, and after the event. Registration for the Turkey Trot 5K is now open. Individuals or teams can sign up at https://runsignup.com/Race/CT/WestHartford/WebsterHillPTOTurkeyTrot2021. The cost is $15 for children ages 5-13 and $25 for those ages 14+; children ages 4 and under are free.
