West Hartford’s 19U girls lacrosse team won the Nutmeg Games competition.

The Chieftain Warriors, West Hartford’s 19U girls lacrosse team, participated in the 27th Annual Nutmeg Games in New Britain and came home with a gold medal.

The team, made up of present and former Conard and Hall girls lacrosse players, made it to the finals by beating LAX ROX of Somers, Amity, and New Milford in the qualifying rounds.

On Sunday evening, the Chieftain Warriors beat Trumbull 12-4 in the gold medal game.

All games were played on Sunday, Aug. 2, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in New Britain.
