Training scheduled for July 26 on the use of Naloxone is free, but registration is required.

West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is offering a free Naloxone Training workshop to the public on Wednesday, July 26, 6:00-7:00PM at the Faxon Library, 1073 New Britain Ave. Topics include learn on how to identify and prevent an opioid overdose, administer Naloxone or Narcan, take prescription opioids safely, and understand the Good Samaritan Law.

Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can reverse an overdose of opioids. Naloxone training programs effectively improve knowledge around overdose recognition and the use of naloxone. Participants receive a free Narcan kit and resource information.

Registration is required. You may register online or call Health Educator Viviane Rinaldi at 860-561-7901.
