Hall hosted Conard in field hockey at Chalmers Stadium on Oct. 19, in the only regular season meeting between the two teams this year.

The Chieftains, currently ranked third in the Connecticut State Coaches poll, added another win to their record with a 3-0 defeat of their crosstown rivals. Conard’s record is 11-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of Glastonbury (10-0), the number two team in the state. Hall’s record is currently 4-7-1.

The cross country season is already in championship mode, and teams headed to Wickham Park in Manchester on Wednesday, Oct. 21, for the CCC Championships.

Two Conard girls placed in the top 10, with junior Gwen Geisler taking sixth place in 20:06 and junior Lindsay Chen in eighth place in 20:09. The team finished in seventh place overall, second in the CCC Central Blue Division.

The Hall boys cross country team also took seventh place overall, behind top runners Trey Cormier in 27th place and Jon Kaback in 29th place. Hall was fourth in the Central Blue Division.

Conard is 4-1 in football, and running back Nate Richam tied a school record with six touchdowns in a victory over Manchester last Friday night. Conard faces top-ranked and undefeated Southington on Friday, Oct. 23 and has dedicated the game to a special Conard family. Click here to read more about “Go Pink for the Greens.
