State Rep. Derek Slap (D-West Hartford, Avon, Farmington) invites students to Hartford for a personal tour of the State Capitol and Legislative Office Building on Tuesday, April 10, at 9 a.m.

“Families looking for something fun, educational, and free to do during the vacation week can consider this tour as an option. I love talking with children about how their government works, listening to their insightful questions and teaching them how they can get involved,” Slap said. “The Legislative Office Building and the Capitol belong to the public and I encourage folks – if they haven’t had the chance – to join me for this informative discussion and tour.”

The tour will include a visit to committee and hearing rooms, a walk underground to the Capitol, and time in the House chamber. It will last one hour and will end approximately 10 a.m. outside the cafeteria in the Legislative Office Building.

Parking is available on the first floor of the parking garage. Exit the first floor of the parking garage and proceed to the west entrance (facing Broad Street) to the Legislative Office Building which is located at 300 Capitol Ave.
