Did you ever read the book Wonder by R. J. Palacio? Do you hope to see the movie?
The story is one of learning to show compassion and kindness towards others. In that spirit, The West Hartford Public Libraries present “The Kindness Project” for children of all ages. You too can join the Kindness Project by helping to create “Kindness Cases.” Each case will be filled with donated personal hygiene items to bring to the West Hartford Food Pantry for children and adults in need.
Step 1: We will meet in the Noah Webster Children’s Department Main floor (20 South Main St. in West Hartford) to make fun duct tape zip lock pouches as our cases with help of teen volunteer friends on either Wednesday Nov. 14 at 3:30 p.m. or Saturday, Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
Step 2: The library will collect personal hygiene item donations for men, women, and children from the public from Nov. 20 through Dec. 15. We hope you will donate what you can and encourage others in your community to do the same.
