The Little East Conference announced its weekly baseball honors on March 18, and two West Hartford natives have been recognized.

Seniors Alexander White and Jordan Muchin, current teammates and Eastern Connecticut State University and former teammates at Conard High School and on West Hartford’s Junior and Senior Legion baseball teams, have both earned the conference’s top baseball honors.

White, an outfielder, was named Baseball Player of the Week.

According to the Little East Conference website, White batted .519 (14-27) with one double, one home run, eight RBI, and eight runs scored during the Warriors spring break trip. In his final game of the week, he went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI in Eastern Connecticut’s 7-0 victory over The College of Wooster – the No. 1 in the NCBWA/D3hoops.com Poll.

White started the week going 4-for-9 with four runs scored and two RBI in a doubleheader against La Roche – a team that is also receiving votes in the poll – and he went 2-for-3 while drawing two walks and scoring twice in an 11-4 win over Scranton, and was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in an 8-2 win over Lakeland.

White was 1-for-2 with two free passes, a double, and two RBI against North Central (IL), which is also among the teams receiving votes this past week.

Muchin was named Pitcher of the Week after shutting down No. 1-ranked College of Wooster on Sunday. Muchin fanned 11 batters while yielding just four hits over eight shutout innings as the Warriors blanked the top-ranked Fighting Scots to close out their Florida trip.
