The March 13-14 snow storm is causing parking bans and a delay in trash and recycling collection this week.

Public Works Service Announcement

A parking ban will go into effect Monday 3/13/17, beginning at 10 p.m. until further notice. The early time is to be proactive and fair to those who rely on-street parking. DPW strongly encourages residents to comply with the parking ban. Ticketing and towing will be strictly enforced. This will be out of necessity for the safety the snow plow operation.

Municipal lots can be used during the parking ban. However we must clear the municipal parking lots for normal business on Wednesday. If a lot is used for safe off street parking, cars must be removed by 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning or DPW will call for the cars to be removed. This will be strictly enforced.

Trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day. All of our collections will be one day late for the rest of the week.

The snow that is in forecast is crippling to any type of vehicle. DPW cannot stress enough to stay off the roads. Our large plow trucks can and do run into trouble with accumulating snow exceeding 15 inches. It will be a certainty that cars will get stuck on a snow covered street. Please be smart and stay safe.
